Very atypical and extremely rare when in a pure, vibrant shade, orange sapphires can be used to create warm, shimmering jewels. Many sapphires are orange or have various shades, often yellow, but also pinkish. It may not be the most common, but this gemstone undoubtedly possesses a special charm.

It's important to distinguish pure, intense, unheated, untreated orange sapphire from the others. The latter is very rare and, consequently, can be quite expensive. Most of the time, prices for orange sapphires are lower than those for blue sapphires, unless you're dealing with one of those gems that are hard to find in their natural state.
Orange sapphire prices vary, however, depending on color clarity, cut quality and carats, among other factors, although the vast majority of orange sapphires are small stones.
In jewelry, orange sapphire is less popular than pink sapphire, but it has some interesting features, notably the fact that inclusions are less visible, provided the color is flamboyant.
Orange sapphire can be used to create beautiful men's rings, sapphire engagement rings, earrings and pendants.
Sapphire's orange color is considered original. Each gem has its own unique characteristics, with more or less yellow, pink or red. Brown is not sought-after. The most popular is pure orange sapphire (which frequently contains slight shades of yellow).
White gold and yellow gold are the most commonly used materials for the creation of sapphire rings rings, with or without diamonds. For a color out of the ordinary, consider purple sapphire or the highly original teal sapphire.
It's not easy to find an orange sapphire with a naturally deep color. The majority of orange sapphires are heated, which is not a problem in jewelry, as long as the heating is of good quality. Unheated orange sapphires are rare, and there are many stones that have been treated, which is not always desirable.
Orange sapphires belong to the large sapphire family. They generally come from deposits in Australia, Madagascar or Sri Lanka. Yellow sapphires, with their orange-colored specimens, are more common. Returning to pure orange sapphires, they come in a variety of hues, including reddish shades when more chromium is present. One of the most coveted orange sapphires is the Padparadsha sapphire. This variety is essentially a Sri Lankan sapphire, extremely rare, but has been found in other parts of the world. Ceylon Padparadsha is characterized by a slightly pinkish hue, which sometimes gives the impression of an orange-pink sapphire.
When a gemstone is an orange sapphire or an orange sapphire, its meaning is associated with positive virtues such as inspiration, enthusiasm and self-confidence.
More generally, sapphire is a symbol of wisdom and love, but the color orange is that of creativity or protection, depending on the culture.
