Bonnot Paris can help you create an emerald ring, whether you like one of our models or are looking for something 100% original. The origin of the stones is a first point of interest when considering the purchase of an emerald ring. Much more than some other gems, the appearance of emeralds varies according to their region of origin. Colombian emeralds, which are particularly renowned, have an intense green color and few secondary hues, such as a little yellow or gray, which is undesirable in jewelry.
For an emerald on an engagement ring, rarer stones might catch your eye, such as Afghan emeralds, which can be a ravishing blue-green. Always favor clarity and homogeneity, especially for a solitaire emerald ring, when the eye is drawn to a single stone.
The shape of the stone and the color of the metal determine the look of an 18-carat gold emerald ring. Pear-cut or rectangular emeralds and yellow gold are classic combinations to consider if you like antique emerald rings. White gold brings out the best in "cooler" emeralds, which are fairly light or slightly bluish. Green stones also go well with pink gold, especially when it's light.
The symbolism is strong, with one of the most widely used stones by jewelers for centuries.Emerald is as famous for its beauty as for its virtues: renewal, harmony, wisdom, growth, serenity or loyalty, depending on the culture. Whether the aesthetic is traditional with a yellow gold and emerald ring or more contemporary with white gold, gold and emerald rings often have deep personal meaning.
Together with diamonds, an emerald engagement ring perfectly symbolizes a declaration of love. However, emerald and diamond rings are also chosen to renew vows: they are among the jewelry of choice for wedding anniversaries.
It is less common to have a woman's emerald ring created or purchased as a wedding band, with or without diamonds. This is partly because emeralds can't be cut into as many shapes as other stones, and partly because of the symbolism, which is less pronounced for marriage. This doesn't stop couples from preferring this style of wedding ring, and it's possible to have superb emerald rings created for other major events, such as a woman's birthday or Mother's Day.
We can create a modern emerald ring in our workshops, whose design will sublimate the stone's natural beauty. In terms of shape, rectangular and cushion-cut emeralds are popular on modern white gold rings, as are round and oval stones.
If diamonds are used, they can be set in a ring or on either side of the stone, in a claw setting. They don't give the impression of overloading the jewel, leaving the starring role to the central stone. Nevertheless, diamond surrounds or double surrounds are extremely popular with emeralds.
High-gloss finishes are favored for today's emerald and white gold rings, as is a certain minimalism, with a more geometric than floral style. The most important thing is to highlight the emerald on the ring in an elegant way, making the most of its color and brilliance.
